About Becky Billock
Becky Billock is an active recital soloist and chamber musician currently based in Pittsburgh, PA. She has appeared as soloist with regional orchestras in Oregon and California. Ms. Billock has performed extensively on the West Coast, including tours of Northwest cities with soprano Gail Wettstein and with cellist Kevin Krentz. She has also performed several times on LIVE! by George program on Classical KING FM 98.1. She has performed extensively in the Pittsburgh area over the last few years.
Ms. Billock received a Bachelor of Music degree in 1994 from Walla Walla College studying under Leonard Richter. She continued her studies with Louanne Long at the University of Redlands, receiving a Master of Music degree in 1998. In June 2003 Ms. Billock received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, studying with Senior Artist in Residence Craig Sheppard. Her research involved compiling a collection of art pieces by 20th century women composers for pianists at the intermediate level. Ms. Billock presented her research at the Seventh International Festival of Women Composers in March 2004, and in November 2004 appeared as a lecturer at the Pennsylvania State Convention for the Music Teachers National Association.
